As a Mom, a wife, a business owner, a daughter, a friend and everything in between--you could say I wear many “hats”. Both literally and figuratively of course, because let’s be real, what Mom actually has time to wash her hair everyday? Not this one. Well over the years I’ve collected quite the hat collection and it might just be my second most prized possession, next to my family of course. ;) I love incorporating them into my home decor for a few reasons. One, it’s a constant reminder to me. These “hats” aren’t just hats to me, they remind me of some of my most important roles. My role as a Mother, my best and most important one. They remind me of the long but beautiful days when I’ve worn one of those beautiful hats all day long to hide my dirty hair because well, I barely had time to put makeup on, let alone brush my hair. They remind me of the day that we went to the lake and played all day long, we built sand castles, we laughed and I forgot about all the worries. They remind me of the time I got all dolled up and had the best night with my husband, we went to dinner, we danced in the living room and my heart was happy. These hats, they’re more than just hats to me--they’re happiness.

Now, these simple hats they have stories behind them, they have meaning and they remind me of all the beautiful “hats” I do wear. BUT, they’re also the most gorgeous, modern decor. They add that touch of flair that completes a room, but keeps it homey and gives it a light feel. My favorite place to use them as home decor is in our master bedroom. I hang them on the side of my nightstand. It breaks up my white, staged decor and gives it the perfect feel. Plus my sweet baby girl, Blake, she loves them. She comes in every morning and points at them saying, “at, at” (aka: hat). It makes my heart happy and it does exactly what I want my home decor to do, it makes it feel like home.

Hats can be used everywhere for home decor though, think mudrooms, a coatrack when you walk in the front door. You can even hang them on the wall above an entryway table in a scattered way, you know to make it look a little more “effortless”. Hats aren’t just for your head, they’re for memories, they’re for happy reminders and they’re the perfect finishing piece to complete your home decor.
